KEANO MOORE NEEDS YOUR HELP

My son Keano was born at 6 1/2 - 7 months premature, by vacuum extraction, weighing 2.260kg. He was discharged and 3 days after being discharged, he developed a severe umbilical sepsis, with an umbilical abscess ( due to n-sterilised equipment), he had to have an emergency operation, then a week later Doctors found another abscess, he had to have another operation, whilst recovering from the 2nd operation (within the same week) the Nurses left a canula in his arm, because his HB was so low, he developed another abscess, and yes he had to have yet another operation, making this his third operation. In February 2006 (being 9 months old) he had to have an emergency circumcision, as his hole was closing due to having to much medication and was having difficulty urinating.
As you may or may not have read in the past few weeks, he had to have another emergency operation (my plea was in the Morning Mirror 183, Tuesday 11th April 2006) The Doctors in Harare have discharged us, as they have discovered, after many tests, that Keano has a Rare White Blood Disorder. They informed me that further tests need to be done in South Africa, as Zimbabwe does not have the equipment to do these tests (i.e leukaemia, Cancer etc.)
I am therefore appealing to anyone, in a position, to help me financially to help raise SAR 100 000.00 for tests that need to be done (i.e Bone marrow, chemotherapy etc.) I have a Doctors letter stating Keanos condition and stating that he needs to have these tests done in South-Africa as soon as possible (a copy can be sent to you, if required), and the Doctor has informed me that my time is indefinite. I have attached a list of various bank accounts, if there is anyone who would be in a position to assist. Your assistance, help would be greatly appreciated (how ever small, every little bit helps), I would be eternally grateful. We need to get to South-Africa urgently, as the Doctors in Zimbabwe cannot help anymore.

To All Exhibitors and Stand-holders who would be interested in taking up a stall at Falcon College Tour De Falcon, on Sunday July 2nd, 2006 at 8.00 am onwards, please let me know if you would like to apply for a stall. There will be many riders participating in the Tour De Falcon Bike Ride (Organisers - Flying Eagles) and there will be "Off-Road Riders", "Social Riders" and "Serious Riders". We are even expecting teams from South Africa!
The fee per stand, will be set closer to the event, so I am just asking for interested parties to send me their names and contact details, and also to give you notice, so that you can build up stock of your product for this very exciting Fair - we will be donating part of our proceeds to a needy cause.

Re Keith Meadows
I do not know if you are all aware that my husband, Keith Meadows, died in Afghanistan on 11th January 2006 from an unexpected illness.
Mana, and I were devastated. As the emails, messages and phone calls poured in, we were overwhelmed that so many people loved, respected and felt the loss as we did. Keith was a man who truly loved his family, country and friends and stuck by his beliefs. Keith was not afraid to say what he thought.
Mana is now a third year photojournalism student at Rhodes University. She quite clearly follows in her father's footsteps. She is a bright and very special, talented young lady.
I will be in the UK this year to do some caring for five months. My ultimate base will be Hermanus, in the Western Cape of South Africa.

ZIMBABWE PENSIONERS PETITION

The petition was set up in order to gain support for the many Zimbabweans, including those still living in Zimbabwe and those who have migrated overseas, to assist them in the plight they are in with their Zimbabwe Pensions. Pension entitlements have devalued over time with the high inflation rate in Zimbabwe, with the result that many Pensioners either no longer receive their pensions, or their value can decreased to such an extent as to be worthless. Many are now relying upon support of families to stay alive and make ends meet.
Some have no family network to support them. Some of the feedback comments available on the Petition site have highlighted this.

I believe that all Zimbabwe Pensioners should be entitled to receive their pensions at the historic rate of $2 to one Pound Sterling. Pressure needs to be put on political leaders, particularly those in the G8 Countries, to redress this injustice. Some Pensioners who are due these entitlements have already passed away - and have lost out; in such instances remaining family members should inherit what their parents did not receive.
At the end of June 2006, the petition will be sent to the appropriate British representative of the G8 group. Therefore as many signatures on the petition site are requested. I shall also be contacting the media, unions etc to try and gain their support for this issue. Your help in obtaining signatures on this site (anyone with a computer can sign it) is therefore appreciated. So please let all your Zimbabwean friends know about this site.

I want to bring a very serious issue under your attention: This has happened to three people in the last two weeks The hi-jackers throw eggs at your vehicle, hoping that you then slow down and put your wipers on. Once you put your wipers on, you cannot see a thing. This is just what the hi-jackers want. They stand a few meters away, and once you have pulled over, they attack and take your car. Maybe even your life.

In the event of this happening to you, just keep going. Open your window slightly, put your head out the window for vision, and just keep driving, until you are safe.

How much water do you need a day?
Water is an important structural component of skin cartilage, tissues and organs. For human beings, every part of the body is dependent on water. Our body comprises about 75% water: the brain has 85%, blood is 90%, muscles are 75%, kidney is 82% and bones are 22% water. The functions of our glands and organs will eventually deteriorate if they are not nourished with good, clean water.

The average adult loses about 2.5 litres water daily through perspiration, breathing and elimination. Symptoms of the body's deterioration begins to appear when the body loses 5% of its total water volume. In a healthy adult, this is seen as fatigue and general discomfort, whereas for an infant, it can be dehydrating. In an elderly person, a 5% water loss causes the body chemistry to become abnormal, especially if the percentage of electrolytes is overbalanced with sodium. One can usually see symptoms of ageing, such as wrinkles, lethargy and even disorientation. Continuous water loss over time will speed up ageing as well as increase risks of diseases.

If your body is not sufficiently hydrated, the cells will draw water from your bloodstream, which will make your heart work harder. At the same time, the kidneys cannot purify blood effectively. When this happens, some of the kidney's workload is passed on to the liver and other organs, which may cause them to be severely stressed. Additionally, you may develop a number of minor health conditions such as constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nosebleeds, urinary tract infection, coughs, sneezing, sinus pressure, and headaches.
So, how much water is enough for you? The minimum amount of water you need depends on your body weight. A more accurate calculation, is to drink an ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight.

Im still looking for the normal glass jam jars and the larger 750 ml mayo type bottles as a donation. This is my charity project and funds raised go to Queen Mary house or SOAP or Edith Duly,you nominate.

Im also looking for all your 750 ml and 375 ml,non returnable spirit bottles (eg skippers cane,imported whisky,wines etc.,I can also raise money for charity and donate as for 5 above. It is said that charity begins at home,so clear out all your unwanted items and help those less fortunate than yourself. Any other items that you want out of your home can assist Queen Mary House as I can always find a market.
