On Friday 26 August 2005 the fifth floor of the Mater Dei Hospital was totally destroyed by fire.

However less than two years later, and against all odds in Zimbabwe's desperately strained economic climate, we are delighted to be able to advise our many friends and generous donors worldwide, that the restoration of the Fifth Floor is almost complete. (See our REBUILD section).

The wonderful local and international communities have allowed us to totally rebuild and refurbish the entire floor to state of the art standards.

With funds collected from our most generous Overseas donors, we have been able to purchase almost all of the necessary and most precious equipment that was destroyed in the fire.

We have so many people to thank as our much needed Fifth Floor was officially opened once again in June 2007.
