Homecoming
The flights to Australia were totally full, how inconvenient of people to travel when we want to go to our daughter's milestone birthday ! It was all the Grannies and Grandpas visiting their children that they have not see since the pandemic!! The reunions at the Perth airport were so touching, some folk had not even met their grandchildren who were now two or three years old!!
Tears were flowing everywhere and my heart was filled with happiness.
A party in Perth is indeed an experience, it had a country and Western theme. Our son-in-law had really gone to town to make it special for our daughter, and the festivities ceased at 3.00 am. (fortunately all the neighbours attended the bash.)
Being used to the good old Iversens tents, this party tent was magnificent, and would have withstood any unseasonal typhoon...there were hundreds of balloons that would have taken Zimbabwe's entire helium stocks. The food was 'out of this world' all night long canapes, served of course by delicious muscle-bound cowboys!!
We seem to have more friends and family in Perth these days than we do in Zim, so the few days we spent there were crammed with delightful reunions and much laughter.
Of course I had planned to write a big 'Whoop De Do' about the 1000th Edition of Morning Mirror but am having far too much fun!!!

Christmas is coming it is a time for reunions, bonding, renewing of friendship, the season of joy, peace, love & unity and a common tradition is the exchanging of gifts with our loved ones, friends, workmates and family and having lots of yummy food to eat ....
With this in mind Mustard Seed Communities Zimbabwe ,Team Nozizwe and partners are planning a massive Christmas soup kitchen for next month , bringing a traditional Christmas to underprivileged communities in particular the over 1000 plus children we feed at our five kitchens. Ngozi mine , Pumula , Woodville and Cabatsha and Maghobho
Here's the catch ...... we need your help to pull this off... we're planning on cooking up a storm for our little friends and elderly folks ...... serving rice, grilled chicken, and salads , with a little something sweet for dessert , cupcakes maybe sweeties and drinks AND THEN...... give each child a little toy/special gift to take home .....
Due to limited storage space for perishables we will accept canned foods, dried foods and other non perishables first from now until December. Then perishable goods such as vegetables and meats can come in a few days before the big day .
Donations big and small of any special eats and treats will be most welcome to make this a reality, in the previous years over Christmas we have served up to 700 children and this year we are likely to break that record by far . If you would like to donate to this years soup kitchen please do get in touch .....
