It certainly has been a cataclysmic few months.
Mind boggled, apocalyptic, tearful, numbed, fearful, desperate...all these adjectives come to mind, and we are all feeling this way.
Where to go Who to turn to What to do
Suddenly the ones we love are so much more precious... Is it the end of the world as has been predicted Hurricanes, tsunamis, locust plagues, and now this pestilence
Sometimes I feel that world possibly does need a purge, there are such shocking people in the world - paedophiles, murderers, rapists, dictators, psychopathic serial killers, sociopathic religious leaders, insane politicians, deceptive political commentators, but especially paedophiles... The world could certainly do without them all.
But there are also amazingly good people too, people who quietly and unstintingly do remarkable good works world wide, we pray they will not fall foul of this terrible virus.
Now on the lighter side .... does one take the bicarb, lemon and hot water precaution suggested by the Israelis Or the Vitamin B 12, Vitamin C and Zinc combo Do I take Ibuprofen or Paracetamol
Its all massive speculation but at least it keeps us busy mixing a cocktail of Apple Cider Vinegar, ginger, lemon, honey , garlic and the eye of a toad!!
My hands are raw with scrubbing and now itchy from all the hand sanitiser!! I have had to reduce my 'singing while I scrub', from two verses of 'Happy Birthday' to just one verse..or I will have no skin left on my hands!!
My nose has been rubbed raw with the face mask, (its rather an aquiline conk!!)
HeeHoo and I got up early this morning to attend the 'Special Shopping hours for Seniors' and we still could not crack a roll of loo paper!!
I dread to think what is going to happen when my hair roots need retouching!! Good gracious my friend Flora said I should 'Go Grey Graciously' well this might be the time!!
HeeHoo adamantly refuses to allow me to cut his hair, (just because I took a small wedge out of his fringe the first time I tried ) Well maybe it wasn't a small wedge, but its going to be either a pony tail for him or he will be begging for my magic scissors soon!!
Air Travel during covid 19 has had its challenges. Emirates and Etihad have stopped flying any passengers, while Singapore Airlines has canceled 96 percent of flights. Cathay Pacific has stopped , South African Airways has cancelled all regional and International flights amongst others.
We managed to stay one step ahead thankfully due to HeeHoo's own brilliant savviness and to his excellent travel agent, Peter Chuma, but elegant air travel had deteriorated into something akin to a concentration camp....
My heart breaks for my Country, sadly the medical system is virtually non existent with the exception of a handful of private practices, and I pray that this terrible virus will by skip past a nation full of good people who have lived such a shocking existence for so long.
We Oldies are a tad unnerved with the nomenclature that the youngsters have given to Covid 19, they are calling it the 'Boomer Remover' well I ask you with tears in my eyes, do we deserve this
