Pepsi has a bit of a story to her. In April 2003 she broke her leg. The owners could not afford the surgical implants (a bone plate and six screws) nor the surgery, but could afford amputation. When the company that supplies us with orthopaedic implants heard this they offered us implants that were no longer suitable for human use at a much-reduced price, and we offered to insert the plate and screws for the same cost as an amputation. Pepsi's leg was saved. She's now much better, the plate will need to be removed in 12-18 months and our client has left funds to pay for the surgery... but now we need a home.
