Khayelihle Children's Village, in association with the University Christian Students Fellowship will be conducting a Carols by Candlelight evening
at the City Presbyterian Church
on Saturday 13th December
starting 6pm.

Come and join in with some amazing voices and contemporary drama entitled "Not Another Christmas Play".

PAB and the Academy - Handel's Messiah
Friday 12 December in the Robert Sibson Hall at 7.30 p.m. Admission by donation A performance of Handel's oratorio recorded in the Pieterskerk, Leiden in the Netherlands by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge and the Brandenburg Consort conducted by Stephen Cleobury with soloists Lynne Dawson (soprano), Hillary Summers (alto), John Mark Ainsley (tenor) and Alastair Miles (bass).

A Christmas Celebration : Saturday 13 December
Robert Sibson Hall at 4.00 p.m.
The choir of the New Apostolic Church invite you to a Christmas Celebration, their annual carol concert which will be held at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music for the first time. Come and join them in the singing of Christmas carols and hymns of praise and experience the joy of the festive season. Conducted by Christopher Situmbeko, accompanied by Deon Marcus (organ/piano) , the concert will also feature solos by Pieter Cloete (tenor) and Amanda Cloete (Soprano) and will include many well-known and much loved Christmas Carols.

PAB and the Academy - Karajan conducts Richard Strauss
Monday 15 December in the Robert Sibson Hall at 5.15 p.m. Admission by donation
The last of the series features "An Alpine Symphony" which was Strauss's last and longest symphonic poem. On one level it is a fifty-minute depiction of the ascent of an Alpine peak, at another an allegory of life scored with immense resource for an orchestra of over 120 players.

PAB and the Academy - A Christmas Carol: Ballet
Friday 19 December in the Robert Sibson Hall at 8.00 p.m.
"A Christmas Carol", premiered by the Northern Ballet Theatre in 1992 and described as "an opulent mixture of ballet, musical and theatre", is closely based on Dickens' story and has a score by Carl Davis that incorporates many well-known carols. The production toured Britain, meeting with great success, and was even presented in China. The reviews were full of praise with the Guardian writing of "unassailable magic, the heartstrings are truly plucked" whilst the Daily Express recommended the ballet as "perfect Christmas entertainment" . Earlier in the afternoon at 4.00 p.m. there will be two more episodes in the Planet Earth series, Ocean Deep & Saving Species and these will be followed by a supper break at 6.30 p.m., i.e. BEFORE "A Christmas Carol".

Does Bulawayo hold the world record for the number of twins per capita.

Over ten years ago a lady came to live in Bulawayo from overseas. She commented about the number of twins there are in Bulawayo. Is there anyway we can find out how many pairs of twins were born in Bulawayo from a certain date. I know of a pair of twins living in Canada who are about 90, who were born here.

I will be having the pleasure of running the guest house as manageress and I wish to invite all those seeking to visit/reside/ work in the UK, to stay there, en route to family, friends or work.

I have a wealth of knowledge on who to contact, where, the bus and coach routes, how to use the Underground, plus I have access to the internet and have information on care agencies etc. I will also be offering a pick-up from Heathrow and drop-off for those arriving and those departing. For those who wish to visit a few places of interest, ie Windsor, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead, Reading, etc

I will provide information and application forms via email, of the various caring agencies in the UK. I will welcome all current and future carers or those making a new life in the UK, to stay with me. For those en-route from the UK, back to the homeland, the guest house is a homely, friendly and very convenient stop-off before departure.
