On Friday 18th, W.E.Z. in conjuction with the Academy of Music, will be holding a showing of the "Planet Earth" series of D.V.D"s _ this will be the 2nd showing, proceeds will be shared between W.E.Z. and the Academy. Starting time 16.00 - 17.00 hrs; tea break from 17.00 to 17.30. Tea and coffee will be available, donations welcomed, and cakes will be on sale ; 17.30 - 18.30 continue with the 2nd D.V.D. of the show. There will be a small entrance charge. Thank you to the wonderful people of Bulawayo for all the goods which have been donated. Our shelves are almost empty again so please keep bringing all your unwanted goods. All money taken at the shop goes directly to running our kennels. There is enormous pressure on the kennels and clinic in these difficult times and every little bit helps such a lot. We take anything such as books, magazines, bottles, plastic bottles, HTH bottles, records, patterns, ornaments, pictures, picture frames, cutlery, crockery, newspapers, costume jewellry, used cards, electrical appliances dead or alive, clothing, games, games equipment, jam jars, in fact anything you do not want we can make use of. We are situated between 14th and 15th Avenues, Robert Mugabe Way. Tel 69814, shop hours 9am -12pm and 2pm - 4pm except Monday mornings, Saturday morning 9am - 11am.

Thank you for keeping our shop going. We have cuttle fish, a brand new Directors chair and beautiful original oil paintings. Why not pop in and browse. We have an urgent appeal from our kennels for old newspapers.

We put an add thru the Morning Mirror and got a response to a pine double bed we were selling, some people bought it put down a deposit and promised to pay the balance on Monday today is Wednesday, my husband let them take it in good faith that they would pay the balance as it was for their teenage daughter, my husband did not get their details, as he said they "LOOKED HONEST"

I am appealing to these people to please bring us the balance owing for the bed as it is a lot of money to over look.

Been a Zimbabwean is the the greats , no matter what comes your parth you can take it, work wise or in live it self. we are known through the world as hard working, kind, friendly , any one world wide just has to hear you from Zimbabwe and you got a job. what makes me upset is we cant make it back home, just because one person ,taking everyones life away.i just hope one day we can stand together and relize we the best people in the world and can make it if we stand together. Thats my home, and my country , im a Zimbabwean and im proud of it. Ill always be a Zimbabwean untill the day i die and ill always will be.

I really have to thank the gentleman who helped my parents out at the plumtree border the eve of the elections. they had been away from zim for two weeks and were not aware of the drastic changes with the currency whilst they were away...so they did not have enough money to pay the road levey. A kind gentle man offered to pay this for them a very kind geture seeing at the time it was 58bil.

It is nice to be reminded that although things are tough here, there are still people in this country willing to help the next man out even at an inconvinence to himself.... I really wish they remebered the gentlman's name so as to thank him personally.

My father, Sam Gelman,
stood for parliament against no other than Ian Smith in about 1968. He was a founding member of the Centre Party, which I think is the only truly multi-racial party Rhodesia ever had. I think given the time and circumstances my father had a lot of guts. I am looking for any newspaper articles, literatures, campaign posters etc which reference him and that election. In general I have started a Rhodesiana book collection, mostly pre 1920s and am looking for a partner in Zimbabwe who could help me research the role my family (Barnett Smith, Abe Gelman, Abraham Gelman and Sam Gelman) played in the history of Rhodesia and Central Africa. To the extent that I can I can cover someone's costs if they could help me.
