As we move closer to the elections Christians in Zimbabwe need to have a concerted push
toward more personal and corporate prayer for our nation, it's leaders and her people.
The following plan of action has been initiated by concerned pastors within the city..
1. Each church adopting and setting aside a day of the week to pray and fast as a
congregation
2. Friday Night meetings at various churches for prayer
3. Prayer and intercessory groups within the city uniting in prayer

Whilst most of us know our old people are suffering in Zimbabwe, and that most of them
have families who could support them and don't, here are a few facts :-
Food for Homes Bulawayo (FHB) is headed by Craig and Leslie Hunt who collect and
distribute food and goods to nine homes in Bulawayo. These are :-

The Bulawayo community has been outstanding in supporting all the functions that help

Thank you to the wonderful people of Bulawayo for all the goods which have been
donated. Our shelves are almost empty again so please keep bringing all your unwanted
goods. All money taken at the shop goes directly to running our kennels. There is
enormous pressure on the kennels and clinic in these difficult times and every little bit
helps such a lot. We take anything such as books, magazines, bottles, plastic bottles, HTH
bottles, records, patterns, ornaments, pictures, picture frames, cutlery, crockery,
newspapers, costume jewellery, used cards, electrical appliances dead or alive, clothing,
games, games equipment, jam jars, in fact anything you do not want we can make use of.
We are situated between 14th and 15th Avenues, Robert Mugabe Way. Tel 69814, shop
hours 9am -12pm and 2pm - 4pm except Monday mornings, Saturday morning 9am -
11am. Thank you for keeping our shop going. We have dog baskets and cuttle fish. Why

Farley Funeral Services. I lost my father 2 years ago and my father-in-law in January this
year and I have never come across such a group of kind and compassionate people as I did
there. Their's is not a job I would envy anybody, particularly the very difficult

At Hillside Dams 1
Over the Last few weekends we have seen a huge number of visitors and it is most
encouraging. The car park has been full on many occasions and there were several
children's parties. It was especially encouraging to see the diversity of people there from
all sectors of Bulawayo society and we can only hope that the support will continue - the
more people that visit the greater the security presence and the more ideas we can get !!
Various companies are lending a hand both financially and with advice. Thanks to all. We
hope that it will soon be obvious to all what has been going on behind the scenes and we
intend to acknowledge one and all through appropriate signage, etc.
The braai area is soon to be restored while the Aloe Garden is being weeded and replanted
using the stock still present. If anyone would like to offer any plants or advice please feel
free to contact us. A number of exotic trees have been felled and replaced with indigenous
species. We have also planted a few additional trees in the Lower Dam car park to
increase shade.
The braai area is be refurbished while the toilets near the old tea-room are being repaired
and upgraded.
For the early risers we saw our first pair of Egyptian Geese return to the dams for some
years. We hope that will take up permanent residence. Several herons have returned and
are a common sight in the trees on the island in the Lower Dam.
