Dear Friends, Fishermen and Women, non fisher people and especially Children who visit Kariba
Our recent trip to Kariba at half term nearly ended in tragedy due to a Croc attack.
To be brief :
We were fishing in Palm Bay - Kariba 6.15pm Sunday 18th Feb. 5 of us on the boat (Mamba-bigger than a Pirahna). My nephew Craig had just rewormed,sat down and was washing his hand behind him in the lake when this large Croc struck. Luckily it missed Craig's arm and only got his forefinger on his left hand(there are tooth graze marks on his arm). A mighty tug of war ensued and only ended when Craig's finger came off. The horror's if it had been his arm are too terrible to think about.
There is a rogue Croc in Palm Bay but we should take extra care wherever we may be fishing - the loss of a loved one or serious injury are not worth the risk. Let us take extra care when we are out there.
