Last year I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis - I have it in both my hands and wrists, this a very painful disease when it is active - I went onto Methotroxate tablets and was left totally pain free - but I have now found out that the tablets could cause sever liver disease, so have decided to gradually go off them - with the result that the pain and swelling is back again - I do not want to go onto prednisolone again either and cannot take any tablets that contain glucosamine (shellfish) as I am highly allergic. Does anyone out there have any advice or know of anything that would help. Many thanks.

The Lions Club of Bulawayo has a new project which we hope you will include in your Morning Mirror. We are hoping to collect any scrap hard plastic for re-cycling and manufacturing into plastic goods such as mugs and bowls for resale to raise funds for charity. Any type of hard plastic is suitable, such as old buckets, baths, cups, plates, fabric softener bottles, cool drink bottles, other household cleaner bottles, etc. Not, though, carrier bags, bread bags and milk bags. These items can be dropped off at Scotties in Main St where they will be taken to the Lions Club of Triangle who have the relevant machinery. Thanking you in anticipation, on behalf of Lion President

WILDLIFE AND ENVIRONMENT ZIMBABWE SHOP
The WEZ Shop is located in the TV Sales & Hire store on Fife between 10th and 11th. Profits help support our wildlife projects such as vlei restoration at Hwange. The Shop has Nature-related videotapes, books – including children's books and puzzles, and a variety of curios. "A Group of forty four "Steam Train Enthusiasts" and two Tour Leaders will be arriving in Bulawayo from Europe on Thursday 10 August 2006 for four days.
They will be riding and photographing various steam hauled trains in and around Bulawayo.
They have expressed interest in purchasing souvenirs, "railwayana" and "memorabilia".
The "Friends of the Bulawayo Railway Museum" are willing to purchase any available items.

Firearms training program
80% of firearm owners both male and female are not competent or practised in the use of their firearms. .
Donnington Practical Pistol Club in conjunction with the ZRP are offering a firearms training program. The objective of this program are to promote the responsible, safe ownership and use of firearms, aimed at people who wish to improve their understanding and competence with firearms. The program will cover the following.
1) Theoretical firearm handling, use and safety.
2) Theoretical advice from the ZRP regarding firearm handling, use and ownership.
3) Advice on ownership, licensing and renewals of firearm permits.
4) Reliability, and maintenance instruction.
5) Choice of suitable firearms for different applications.
6) Firearms and children.
7) Practical handling skills and range work.
Program will be run on Saturday 01 July 2006 commencing 08H30 Estimated duration is 6hrs. Cost of program is $5 000 000-00 which includes tea/coffee and refreshments. This does not include the price of ammunition or lunch. Firearms covered will be Handguns (pistol or revolver) and shotguns. No Rifles. Participants will require a suitable firearm. (Pistol, revolver or shotgun) Minimum of 50 but preferably 75 rounds of ammunition for handguns. 25 rounds for shotguns. Safety glasses (quality sunglasses or optical glasses will suffice) Hearing protection (Disposable earplugs will be available) Note pad and pen. Several firearms will be available for use by people who cannot bring their own. Limited quantity of 9mm Parabellum, 38 special,. 357 mag. And 12G shotgun ammunition will be available for the course. Price TBA. A maximum of 15 participants can be accommodated.

I received an email from South Africa about this poor man "gavin Osbond and/ or Osmond" who had acid thrown in his face, 1st in Harare, and now in Rivonia, South Africa. To have it twice in two different parts of the world is amazing. If any of you believed the 1st email going around in Zimbabwe and did not read my update, please note, this is a huge rumour and did not happen. I checked up personally with medical officers in Harare who stated they did not deal with ANY type of person who had been burnt with acid in his face in a hijacking. The unfortunate thing about these rumours is that some idiot out there might just try it, so please stop this rumour mongering. Don't pass on emails without checking first as to whether it actually took place.
