IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WOULD LIKE TO GIVE KARATE A TRY OR WOULD LIKE THEIR CHILD TO DO THIS INCREDIBLE SPORT ?.
You would be most welcome to attend a class or two to see if it is a sport you would enjoy. Children 7 yrs and older and adults can attend. Karate is beneficial in areas such as concentration, co-ordination, spatial awareness, crossing the mid-line, memory skills, self discipline, muscle tone and building, flexibility, all round self confidence. We have several tournaments and gradings every year and compete regionally and internationally. Basic self defence, kata and kumite are taught, all under strict control and supervision. BORROWDALE HARARE

The second Christchurch Country Fair is to take place on Saturday May 20 at Christchurch Borrowdale (corner Crowhill Road and Wheeldon Avenue) and, like its predecessor, it has a fun mix that includes a car boot sale, a fete, a tombola, a second-hand clothing sale, catering and a new feature, an antiques roadshow. It will run from 9am to 2pm that day, with no charge for entry, so we are hoping for a good turnout of visitors. BULAWAYO MASTECTOMY SUPPORT GROUP

Is there anyone who has a computer screen that they could part with even an old black and white one would be great, we have a PC and keyboard but the screen at the Cancer Office packed in some time back, an old printer in working order would be wonderfrul as well but I can always take mine down once work has been saved and get it printed off.

There is a very old electric typewriter there which I think probably fell off the Arc but it does still work, sort of ,needs a battery for its memory???

Any help at all for the Cancer Centre is greatly appreciated
We meet on the Second Wednesday of every month at 2.30pm which is a very pleasant little get together and enables you to meet other folk who have been through various types of cancer, always a great help when you are feeling really down after your results to find lots of people in the same boat and managing.

the DESCENDANTS of MARGARET (Maggie ) GREEN nee MADGEN born in 1878 in St Johns Chapel, Weardale, Durham England .

She married WILLIAM GREEN and they farmed in the CHINHOYI area or thereabouts. They had 3 children , DOT, WILLIAM,and CONNIE. I know that the family was still in the area in the 60's. The Canadian side of the Madgens is trying to make a family tree , but cannot get any information on this branch of the family. NEWS FROM THE BOTWRIGHT FAMILY

We landed in London last July, 10 minutes after the bombs went off in London - what a welcome! Anyway, we left for Perth, in Scotland, where we now have a council cottage some five miles from Perth. We have managed to get some furniture and a small car. We re on pension credits and we do eight hours a week voluntary service for the Salvation Army. Being on pension credits, we are not allowed to take on paid employment but we do have we have some benefits which help us with council tax, etc. At the age of 66, leaving your home in Zim to come over is not easy but we have been assisted so much and are settling down, albeit slowly. The Scots are friendly and very generous. We have bus passes which allow us to travel throughout the whole of Scotland FREE! There are many other concessions for over-60's here. If anyone wants any info, we will do all we can to answer any questions. I would ask that they contact you in the first instance, if you don't mind, and you can either forward their questions, or give them my email address as I would rather it was not published - if that's okay by you.

Please let me know if you know of anyone wanting to sell a baby stroller/pram. I am looking for something that folds and is not too bulky, where Kyle can sit upright or recline slightly, with a cover/ hood and a basket underneath.
