MICHAEL'S CONCERT IS ON !!

Performing Arts apologises for the on/off confusion but Michael Brownlee Walker WILL be playing on Tuesday 14 February! The concert will take place as originally intended at 6.00 p.m. in the Robert Sibson Hall. There will be one difference - the concert will be FREE!

An explanation! Michael had hoped to postpone his trip and recital but in fact his air ticket cannot be changed without considerable expense so he's flying this weekend as originally intended. As he was in hospital for over a week, he has obviously lost a good deal of rehearsal time so will not be playing the full programme and will decide once he's here just how much he can manage. He seems confident that it will be quite a substantial portion of what was originally advertised.
It was always quite a short programme (designed initially for a lunchtime recital) so we have decided that there will be no charge for tickets - but we will be happy to accept donations! There will be snacks afterwards (on PAB!) and a cash bar so we hope everyone will stay on for a while - and perhaps pay subscriptions! We'll also take the opportunity to update you on Festival plans and, for those who might be interested, there will be a chance to see the improvements that have taken place at the Academy over the last year.
We will refund the cost of tickets to all who have already booked. Please bring your tickets with you - and the seating plan will apply. Those who have booked plus Red Carpets will have their seats reserved and those who haven't booked can choose from the plan at the door as usual. If anyone wishes to book at Meikles, that's also possible - the booking office has been informed that there will be no charge.

To confirm: Michael Brownlee Walker will be playing LOVE SONGS on Tuesday 14 February at 6.00 p.m. in the Robert Sibson Hall. The concert is FREE and there will be snacks and drinks afterwards.

A huge thank you has to go to my family and the staff of Southern Comfort Lodge who always put great effort into these fund raisers without complaint. Last but not least Shannon Young our Fund Raising Manager, without her we would not have enjoyed the success we have had with our Fund Raisers, thank you Shannon, keep up the hard work!
PRESCRIPTIONS: 4 cases have been dealt with in the past couple of months and Dr Jackie Stone has filled the scripts for us, a big thank you to her. The essential drugs are becoming hugely expensive and I feel that we will have many more cases in the near future.
NON-ESSENTIAL DRUGS: We have had donations from RSA of these drugs which are always in great need, such as aspirin, brufen, paracetamol, calcium and vitamins. Special thanks to Peter Haworth for the package he brought for us. As always we are appealing for any of the non-prescriptive medicines, cotton wool, bandages, dressings, if you are able to assist please contact me.
GLASSES: We had 2 consultations in December, thank you to McMinn staff for their assistance. We are getting more and more calls for assistance with glasses and are hoping due to the successful fund raisers we will be able to increase the number per month we can deal with.
EMRAS AMBULANCE: This service has been busy over the Festive period. These ambulance trips have increased to 2.5 million @ trip and we thank EMRAS for their preferential fee they have given us and thank you to all the Staff for their hard work throughout the year.
DATA BASE: This is an ongoing project and we now have 347 people registered and many more questionnaires given out. If you know of anyone requiring a medical questionnaire please let me know. I would like to thank Dave and Louise of SOAP for their assistance with the data base. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the donors throughout the year who have helped us to help our Senior Citizens, especially the ones listed below.

Our other pet Prince is my daughters extremely spoiled and loved Maltese who rules our roost and is going to be very hard to leave behind. He is two years old and is still very playful so a family with children would be nice but not essential. It would of course be ideal if they could stay together but we realise that the chances of that are very remote so we would consider letting them go separately.
