BRIDGE LESSONS
Bulawayo Bridge Club is proposing to offer Bridge lessons, starting in March. The Course of 12 lessons will cost $100.000 (one hundred thousand) per person. For the past two years we have stabled horses at Ascot Race Track. During this time we have watched the track and its surrounds deteriorate to a point where we could not just sit back and do nothing. In the past six weeks we have undertaken to clean up the track, including the removal of over 100 squatters! The mess was horrendous but with some willing (paid) helpers we have managed to clean up the stables which they were using as houses, and to collect and burn the rubbish and unblock all the drains. At this point we would like to say a BIG thank you to the Bulawayo City Council, for sorting out the squatter situation. Now that it is in abeyance we do not wish for them to creep back and to do that we need to secure the perimeter of the Race Track. Over the weekend we started closing up the holes in the fence around the track only to find that there is 50m of fencing missing opposite the hospital! Is there anyone out there willing to help us with 50m of diamond mesh? A lot of people use the track for exercise and taking their dogs for walks and we would like to maintain and keep the track safe for everyone.
