She was a retired sister-in-charge of the Gray Ward at the Bulawayo Central Hospital (UBH). Reb devoted special attention to the elderly patients of the Gray Ward. She would always decorate the ward at Christmas time, at her own personal expense, and give the patients Christmas gifts, all out of her own personal pocket.
