* I stopped drinking Coca Cola after I found
out that it's good for removing toilet stains.
* I stopped going to the movies for fear of
sitting on a needle infected with AIDS.
* I smell like a dog since I stopped using deodorants because they cause
cancer.
* I don't leave my car in the parking lot or any other place and
sometimes I even have to walk about 7 blocks for fear that
someone will drug me with a perfume sample and try to rob me.
* I also stopped answering the phone for fear
that they ask me to dial a stupid number and then I get a phone bill
from hell with calls to Uganda, Singapore and Tokyo.
* I stopped drinking anything out of a can for fear that I will
get sick from the rat faeces and urine.
* When I go to parties, I don't look at anybody no matter how hot she/
he
is, for fear that she will take my kidneys and leave me taking a nap
in a bathtub full of ice and remove my kidneys before I wake up.
* I also donated all my savings to the Amy Bruce account. A sick girl
that was about to die in the hospital about 7,000 times. Funny that
girl, she's been 7 since 1993...
* I went bankrupt from bounced checks that I made expecting the $15,000
that Microsoft and AOL were supposed to send me when I participated in
their special e-mail program.
* My Free Cell Phone phone never arrived and neither did the passes for
a
paid vacation to Disneyland.
* But I am positive that all this is the cause of a stinking chain
that I broke or forgot to follow and I got a curse from hell.

Statement on the National Peace Convention and the National Day of
Prayer to be held on 24-25th of May 2004
A Call for Peace
The Church and civil society leadership would like to call upon
Zimbabweans from all walks of life to seize on the opportunity
presented by the National Peace Convention and the National Day of
Prayer to be held on the 24th and 25th of May respectively and campaign
for peace and prosperity for our beloved country.
We are persuaded that true development will remain elusive until there
is genuine democracy, respect for human rights, accountable governance
and peace. We would like to reiterate that the call for peaceful
coexistence and tolerance are fundamental pillars upon which Zimbabwe's
transformation should be built. Peaceful coexistence and tolerance are
fundamental pillars of our common humanity "ubuntu"/unhu. The National
Peace Convention, which is to be held under the theme, Seek Peace and
Pursue It (Psalms 34vs14), is an opportunity to revive a culture of
peace in our country that has been afflicted by violence, intolerance,
starvation and the HIV/Aids pandemic.
It is only through the Word Of God that our nation can be saved from
degenerating into politics of chaos and retribution. We therefore
call upon all stakeholders such as the government and the political
parties, the youths and civil society in this country to boldly oppose
the monster of violence. The strife that is evident in our communities
epitomized by lack of co-existence between and among people of
different political divides is cause for concern to the church and all
who fight for peace and justice.
Any efforts aimed at nation building are doomed to fail, if we allow
violence to rear its ugly head again. It is only peace with justice
that will ensure both economic and political prosperity for our nation
and restore confidence in leadership and government. Such that the
people are proud of their country and ready to work for it.
We implore Zimbabweans to go to various centers throughout the country
on the 25th of May and pray for peace, love and tolerance to prevail in
our country, both now and in future.
Do not miss this great occasion to pray for the good of the country!!
Be a true patriot! Let us build together and with other Peacemakers.

ANTI HIJACK TRUST - BULAWAYO Newsletter
Hijackings seem to be a little quiet these days, but when they happen,
the hijackers are violent, holding victims at gun point or using other
weapons, from truncheons, to knives, screwdrivers and carjacks. Please
be very aware of your surroundings at all times.
When in town, look who is around your car or following you. If you
visit a friend just for a few minutes, DO NOT park your car outside and
chat to them at the gate - I had a victim last week who had done this,
and had locked her car, but unfortunately the other lady was elderly
and the hijackers threatened her to get the keys from the owner of the
vehicle. DO NOT assume the men will do nothing to you - they will hurt
and injure you for their own means. If you see your friend on the
road, DO NOT park on the side of the road to have a good old chat to
them, you are only setting yourselves up for a violent hijacking and
putting the rest of the public at risk. Again, these men do not care
who is around them, and it happens so fast that the public would not
know how to assist without putting themselves in danger.
I have had a few people mention their concern about when they go to
have their vehicles checked for police clearance. If you are uncertain
about people hanging around, speak to one of the officers at Drill Hall
or go across to the Vehicle Theft Squad in the building next to the
wooden offices, and state how you feel. One of my victims feels she
could identify the men who hijacked her from being at Drill Hall the
day before, these men were just loitering in that area. GO with your
gut feeling, it may just help you, and you are not going to look stupid
if you raise your suspicions with the police, that is what the police
are there for, use them!
The Trust is in desperate need of help here in Bulawayo. I need people
who can assist in ideas in getting donations from Companies to help.
These donations can vary from money to payment of phone bills or
anything else that comes to mind. This Trust is sponsored by the
Private Sector, I think it would add insult to injury if I were to ask
victims to pay for counseling - don't you.
I run the Trust solely in Bulawayo, and at present do the speeches,
counseling of victims and support group, and try to drum up support
from the private sector. The latter being a big problem.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Clan for their undying
support in fuel to help me run around and help victims, Mweb for the
email service, and Hubert Davies for stationery.

and more information on people who have been attempted or hijacked. My

This afternoon I went to Edith Duly Nursing Home to give them a
donation for an advert which was placed in the Mirror. First of all I
am ashamed to admit that I have lived in Bulawayo for nearly 40 adult
years and it is the first time I have ever set foot in Edith Duly, in
fact I had to ask direction on how to get there. I knew the general
area, but not the exact position. I was humbled when I entered the
home, I was shown to the dinning room where some members of staff were
having tea, to get to the dining room I had to walk through a sitting
room. Sitting near a fire were a few 'old dears', with a few others on
various chairs around the room, a SMALL TV was on, I don't think other
than the door man anybody was watching it. The dinning room was very
basic, and I know that the people there are doing as much as possible,
with what they have got, but boarding school came quickly into my mind.
I had said that I would donate a certain amount, but when I saw how
needy the situation was I more than doubled it. I came away from there,
distressed and upset, and thought how shallow our lives have become,
worrying about the price of a litre of fuel, or where to get a loaf of
bread. I would ask you if you know someone there, visit them. If you
live outside the country and can possibly make life more enjoyable for
these old dears make it a priority to assist, even if you only do it
once. I will certainly not wait another 40 years before I go back,
but maybe by then I could be one of the inmates.................
