She will be sadly missed by her daughters Linda and Judy, sons-in-law Paul and Sean and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Obituary notice... It is with true sadness I share that Barbara Szolga passed away, peacefully and with me holding her hand, in England in the early hours of Monday 9th July after bravely and positively facing terminal illness over the last few months. For those who knew Barbara, you will most certainly recall her attitude towards life was enthusiastic and unique. We will have a service on Thursday 9th August to remember Mum's love of her friends, horses (and pretty much anything else with 4 legs), quizzes, classical music concerts, games nights until the early hours and all things beautiful, quirky and fantastic that just made Barbs Barbs! 8) Bulawayo News Dear Friend. In August the initial judging for My Beautiful Home takes place. The homes are the painted huts of Matopos and the surrounding wards. This competition brings benefit to the community and to Bulawayo itself through tourism. However we need volunteers to participate in way-pointing the huts on GPS and photographing the exteriors and interiors of the huts. We ask for a day of your time to facilitate this. You would need a high clearance vehicle, a GPS and a camera or smart phone. Some funding is available for fuel but you have the choice of using the funding or not. Please join us and extend this invitation/request to others who might be interested in enhancing our locality, offering a service to the community and preserving the tradition of painting huts with natural materials and colours.
