Please will you include a notice of the Memorial Service and internment of her ashes for Helen Page to be held on Saturday 11th June at 10am at the Church of the Ascension Hillside Helen passed peacefully away after a short illness on 9th May at the Elmwood Nursing Home in Bickley, England- she will be missed by her many friends and her sisters Brenda and Dorothy Page.
5) Roses And Raspberries Bulawayo Help Network held our first outing of Treasure Pleasures Charity Shop at Zonikizizwe on Sat 4 June. It was absolutely fantastic and we have many people to thank:- Cathy McDonald of Glendining Pvt Ltd who gave us the space to hold our stall; Brooks Coffee Shop; Queen Mary House committee; F.Neil & Company, Copy Cat, Matabeleland Steam Laundry; Morning Mirror. Especial thanks to our wonderful Volunteers (headed up by Tracey Stewart) who, week after week do their bit in our shop, and still came out in full force on Saturday to help set up and to sell . Fee Lander who has not only sourced marvelous donations, but sorted and priced many of the items on sale. Our families who patiently backed us up all the way. However, we owe a very special debt of gratitude to Lisa Kaufman who stepped in, as Tracey is away. She coordinated the whole event, doing many hours of background work, emailing, phoning, meeting, sorting, cleaning and much polishing to say nothing of a full day out on Saturday. Thanks for the GREAT QUALITY of donations received from so many people of clothing and Bric a brac. Please remember us when you are cleaning up your life. We raised $1500 on the day and the funds raised will go a long way towards meeting the ongoing needs of pensioners in distress. THANK YOU ALL. Our next outing at Zonkizizwe will be on 9th July - watch this space .

7) Bulawayo News BULAWAYO PUBLICITY ASSOCIATION Several important events will be taking place in Bulawayo this month, amongst them the Sanganai/Hlanganani travel expo, being held in Bulawayo this year at Zimbabwe International Trade Fair from 16th to 18th June and the Music Festival at the Academy of Music from 16 to 20 June. Also the official opening of the revamped Khami Ruins site museum. Many local, regional and international exhibitors will be promoting their products at the Expo and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has invited at least 140 international and regional travel agents and media to attend. All Publicity Associations have been given a complimentary stand. The pre and post tours for agents will include a visit to Bulawayo's tourist attractions and accommodation. The Music Festival audiences will be delighted to hear familiar well loved musicians such as Leslie Howard and Cody Green and Bulawayo's own Nokuthula Ngwenya, a world renowned violinist who originally hailed from Bulawayo. The revamped Khami Site Museum will be officially opened on Saturday 25th June at 10a.m. The Bulawayo public is invited to attend and make a day of it with braai areas and a tour of the Ruins with Rob Burrett in the afternoon. The walls of the site museum have been painted with fantastic murals. Take 13th Avenue to the Ruins. Another popular Scruffs Dog Show is to be held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair horse arena on Sunday 5th June starting at 9a.m. There will be a bar and catering facilities. Motor racing fans will be pleased to know that there will be motor racing at the Falls Road Motor Sport Park on Saturday 4th June, starting at 10a.m. The DanceSport Championships which include ballroom and Latin Dancing will be held on Friday 17th June at Whitestone Primary School starting at 6p.m. Dancers from Bulawayo and Harare will be competing. Several of the dancers have competed regionally and internationally at World DanceSport Federation Championships. The Alliance Francaise Cine-Club invites you to attend a free show of Le Citronniers (the lemon trees) at 61 Heyman Road at 6:30p.m. on Friday 10June. Snacks and drinks will be on sale for those of you who have not brought your own refreshments. For more information telephone (09)250245. Joseph and his Amazing Dreamcoat, a theatre Club musical production will be showing on 2nd, 3rd and 4th June, with a matinee on Saturday 4th. It is pleasing to know that although the pottery section of Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre has closed, the training of young school leavers continues. Ascot Library receives a good selection of children's' and adult fiction on a regular basis from the main Public Library, so do go in and browse around. Internet facilities are also available. Restaurateur Kimber from Indaba Book Cafe is now in partnership at The Kraal Restaurant and comments from diners who have eaten there have been most favorable. Zikhuphani, a very attractive glossy publication produced every second month now, contains a great deal of useful information about events, accommodation, restaurants, clubs and societies and some general articles of interest. It is worth advertising in this publication.
