4) Condolences/In Memoriam/Wreath Funds RONALD EDWARD GRIERSON TUCKEY Passed away peacefully on 16th April free at last from Alzheimers Disease praise the Lord A BAC stalwart of many years standing and very proud of being an honorary Life Member of that and the Bulawayo Club We had 64 years together, 62 of them in marriage and I hold on to that He will remain in our hearts forever Jean, Ken and Ric and their families 16th April My dearly beloved husband left me this morning at 10.05 peacefully and quietly and with no fuss....on Saturday he was very lucid and we were putting up photos in his room at the new Hospital he had just been moved to and he opened his eyes and said 'hello son' something he has not done for the past six months, then when Ric was holding his hand and talking to him he looked earnestly at him and said 'she is your responsibility now do you understand and take care of her' and Ric promised him,...then that said he was happy laughing at the photos we were hanging up - we didnt know why the laughter but it was so good to have him with us, so to speak. From then on until yesterday there was little or no response until yesterday when I had tried to feed him and he wouldnt eat even ice cream and when I got up to leave as he appeared to be sleeping he gripped my hand and said 'no' quite firmly so I stayed until he fell asleep properly and now he is in eternal sleep and I am happy for him but it will take a while for me to realise no more caring for him....and that my energetic confident husband is no more.
