We would like to thank his friends and colleges who have prayed for him and shared with him the time since our mums death last year. They are together again. God is good all the time. The memorial service was held at the Cathedral on Friday 6 December 2013 Dave Rix passed away on the 7th Dec - on his 74th birthday - after a very short illness. The family gives thanks for no more pain and suffering - and give special thanks for the fantastic care and compassion shown by Dr Dixon and his team They will be holding a celebration of his life on Tuesday at 3.30pm at the Hillside Dams for his friends and family that can make it. 5) Roses And Raspberries An enormous bunch of roses to both Dillon and Paul for organising the DamExtreme at the Hillside Dams the 7th and 8th of this month ! It was a wonderful experience for many, many Bulawayans. And a tonne of raspberries to the person who, after the showing of the film on Saturday night, assumed that the film projector and the sound mixer were included in the ticket price. THEY WERE NOT!!! So you, and you alone were the only negative factor in this whole happening, spoiling it to such an extent for the organisers, that they are contemplating to make this just a one-off, not to be repeated event. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Bulawayo public, if you know who this sorry excuse for a human being is, or if you were/are offered a film projector or a sound mixer for sale, please contact the Hillside Dams Conservancy office on 09 242490. A very big bunch of roses for Margie Barnard and all at Pet Hilton for all the care they have given the 'carpark' cats after they were spayed and neutered (all 16 of them) - they had never experienced such luxury and care. All the adults have gone home and Margie has kept all the kittens until they are ready to go to their new homes. All this amazing care at no charge. A very big thank you from the cats kittens and Vali. A big bunches of roses to to Claire Einhorn who so expertly caught all the cats and kittens with her helpers Chevorn and Shelly. Thanks for the ferrying to the vets Dr Roberts and Stevenage who inoculated, spayed or neutered all the cats. Claire then delivered them to Pet Hilton for their recuperation. We are aware of a press report stating it will now be mandatory for all vehicles to carry vehicle litter bins and that a $15 fine will be imposed if found not to have one. The reporting was inaccurate insofar that EMA have introduced a rule that all commuter vehicles, ie taxis, buses will have to carry vehicle litter bags and can be fined in the absence of such bags. It does not apply to private vehicles at this stage. Vehicle litter bags were introduced by Environment Africa as part of the Clean up Zimbabwe and Keep it Clean campaigns to address the ongoing problem of people throwing litter out vehicle windows.
