Saturday night, an hour after the advertised starting time, the problem started - fireworks. Shame on you , you know who you are, for putting the god of money before the god of compassion and care. Distributing leaflets encouraging pet owners to be 'responsible' does not absolve you from your social responsibilities! What example are you setting the children you teach? Most certainly the SPCA did not endorse the use of their name on your leaflet and no amount of care can stop the terror felt by some animals at this time. Locked indoors and all windows closed; both the television on and music playing did not blot out the sounds or the vibrations made by the exploding fireworks. But of course, you were at the show - you were not at home being a 'responsible' pet owner. While you were burning money in order to make money, you were not experiencing life with a terrified animal. They don't understand - what is your excuse? Rest assured that the anti-fireworks campaign will not stop and the day will come when no matter how many 'friends in high places' you may have, this careless and senseless activity taking place in the centre of town and reaching widespread suburban areas - all in the name of money - will come to an end. We require a separate form for each passport application and the credit or debit card will be charged in sterling - please note that the payment will be processed by Her Majesty's Passport Office in the UK, not in Harare. We are able to accept Mastercard, Visa, Electron, Diners Club and JCB. If you do not have a credit/debit card, kindly ask family or friends to use their card details. UK State Pensions You can only qualify for a UK State pension if you have made National Insurance contributions for at least a quarter of your working life. We no longer offer the service of witnessing proof of life certificates for UK pensions. New guidance is available here. Taking Pets to the UK People wishing to take their pets to the UK, should speak to their local vet about the correct export procedures. Army Jobs Please refer to this website for more information about joining the British army. The new residency requirement for non British Citizens means that applicants now need to have lived in the UK for five years before they can sign up for the army or other British military services. Lottery Scams - If you did not buy a ticket, you cannot win a lottery! There are many attempted frauds often by email, faking a UK connection. Some of these, despite having forwarding addresses in the UK, international email addresses and UK mobile phone numbers, are actually sent from perpetrators based outside the UK. Do not enter into dialogue with these people. They are professional criminals and will attempt to exploit you. Even if you do not pay them any money, they might steal or abuse your identity. Your best defence against these people is to ignore them, delete any emails that you have received from them and do not pay them any money or give them your bank account details. If you feel that you may have been the victim of internet fraud contact Action Fraud immediately and report the incident. You may also want to visit the official UK National Lottery website.
