8) Bulawayo News I would prefer that this remain anonymous and hope someone can help or shed some light Having returned this afternoon from Francistown we were pulled over by police while nearing the end of our very tiring journey through both border posts I was asked to pay a $20 00 fine for having a cooler box in the back seat, which contained appetizers, ice teas and water bottles I was told this was a danger in the event of an accident and indeed illegal We were traveling in a sedan Golf, my sons were both buckled up and in my opinion no crime was committed Having some minutes previously been run off the road by a Zimra "bakkie" driving over the white line, I feel this abhorrent behaviour needs dealing with I should have asked for the police officer's name, but the intimidation made me forget this as a Mother driving alone with two children CS
9) Gossip Column At 6 30 in the morning, Leslie Sullivan would say 'Upupupupupup! Time for your exercises', and then John Aldridge would give us 5 minutes of beautiful piano playing and told us what exercises to do He was the only person I ever knew who could play the piano and talk at the same time I sure can't! WHATS HAPPENING IN THE NURSERY? November saw our turn over increase by 20% on the October turn over and we have had so many positive comments from every one who has come to the nursery at Zonk i Zizwe Lyn and I would like to thank all of your for your support It's now too late to put in seedlings into your garden that will have any impact for the festive season, but we still do have big established plants like Salvia, Busy Lizzies and Day lilies, which will give you a splash of colour This week we have taken delivery of some wonderful plants that would make spectacular gifts: African violets 3 different colours of Xmas Poinsettia's Phalinopsis orchids in many different colours Bromeliads Birds nest ferns Rhododendron azaleas Brilliant Xmas Zygocactus, just coming into bloom We now also have a big selection of decorative pebbles and concrete pavers in stock The Pebbles come in a range of sizes from XL to X Small We have the following colours available white, black, brown, banded iron stone, and mixed, From next week we will also get in decorative wreaths, wicker reindeer and a variety of Xmas related d cor items The Xmas tree's we have available are not the biggest but are the only ones we have found in any quantity this year Don't leave you tree until too late We will be open every day from now, including the Unity Day holiday and Sundays We will close for Xmas Day and Boxing Day and then New Years Day and the Monday 2nd Holiday I am normally at the Nursery at opening and closing times and Lyn is there from around 11 00 each day Hope you all have wonderful holidays Dave Rawlins
