CONDOLENCES

FENTON: NANCY VIOLET (NEE (KING)

It is with great sadness that we place this notice.
Nan Fenton passed away on Sunday the 15th February, 2009 @ Edith Duly Nursing home, Bulawayo, where she had been staying for the past 6 years.
Nan was 86 years old, soon to be 87. She had lived a full and happy life. She was always so very active, and had the honor of playing Badminton for her country, being the ladies singles champion for a couple of years.
Nan was the much loved mother of Michael and Deanna, grandmother of Nicola and Tracey, and great grandmother (G.G.) of Christopher and David.
Nan was so courageous in the amazing way she handled her illness, a lady with dignity right to the end, until she fell asleep to be with her lord. She was such a wonderful example to us all.
Cancer is a terrible illness, and we give thanks to DR. Pretorius, and all the nursing staff at Edith Duly for their wonderful care and concern for Mom.
Nan will be so greatly missed by all her family and friends, No more get together for tea and cake, and laughter over solving crossword puzzles.
Rest in peace dear Mom we Love you.

Our hearts go out to the folk in Eastern Australia on their horrendous ordeals.

"I Watched a home video of fire bearing down on a community where most were killed. Absolutely frightening. The incredible roar and hillsides exploding. It shook me. So eerie here as we have this pall of smoke from the Victorian fires. Can you believe it. Up in the north of the state the floods are horrendous. No point in fodder drops as the cattle are all gone. Some big properties have NO cattle and NO horses left. They are counting the losses in hundreds of thousands (of head!) (Many washed out to sea!) Hard to believe.
I feel guilty as we have just had 100mm of rain - a couple of days ago. Fence damage but nothing to talk about."
