D'Artagnan (Michael York), Athos (Oliver Reed), Porthos (Frank Finlay) and Aramis (Richard Chamberlain) executed the beautiful but lethal seductress Milady De Winter twenty years ago but now, Milady's ravishing daughter Justine (Kim Cattrall) has vowed revenge. Kubuni : Comics from Africa Kubuni, les bandes dessinees d'Afrique.s Exhibition launching on Friday 9th February - 5pm free entrance, wine and fingerfood offered The Kubuni: Comics from Africa exhibition is a roadmap dedicated to the discovery of comics from sub-Saharan Africa through three focal points: the past, present and future. Presented in partnership with the French Institute of South Africa and the Alliances Francaises network in Southern Africa, 'Kubuni' which means 'imaginary creation' in Swahili, takes you on a journey of discovery of comics whose stories take place in Africa, made by authors from sub-Saharan Africa and the diaspora. As much a feast for the eyes, as it is for the mind, the Kubuni exhibition is accompanied by a selection of comic books. In Zimbabwe, the Alliances Francaises of Harare and Bulawayo have decided to extend this exhibition with a Zimbabwean section, aiming to display the rich and increasing Comics culture in our country. Comics workshop for kids with Kadelwa Ndlovu Saturday 17th and 24th February - 10am to 11.30am free registration (limited number of places) Register your kids/teenagers now for this workshop on Comics, where they will learn how to create a story, write a script, draw and insert dialogues. Free registration at director.bulawayo@afzim.org (strict limited number of spaces). Kadelwa Joab Ndlovu, known as Kadelwa Arts, is a multidisciplinary artist who focusses on both 2d and 3d animation. He was born on the 1st of June 1999 and grew up in Dombodema village in Plumtree town. He started his passion for art at a young age, doing class room charts. A word from the artist : "Why I love Comics Comics captivate me with their dynamic visuals, bringing stories to life through vibrant artwork and compelling characters. The blend of art and storytelling allows for a unique and immersive experience. Jean-Gab and Manu, two simple-minded youngsters, find a giant fly stuck in the trunk of a car, they decide to train it in the hope of making a ton of cash Bulawayo Book Club Saturday 24th February - 11am to 1pm Stringed Moments with Barbs Thursday 29th February - 5pm to 7pm - free entrance The Stringed Moments project is inspired by the lived experiences of Barbs, which range from surviving cervical cancer, endometriosis, a hysterectomy, a divorce, abuse, cardiac arrests and even living with an autoimmune disease. Each challenge came with its own set of lessons, but she's continually seen the power that comes with redefining and rebuilding your identity on your own terms. She has made it her life work to create space for this transformation for those searching for a better way to be, and Stringed Moments is a manifestation of that purpose. Bold Dialogue is an intuitive wellness platform that facilitates healing, ignites hope and brings the possibility of boldly living a life that honours your passions and dreams. "We work with women across Africa, equipping them with the support, mentorship and tools required to transcend trauma in order to truly operate from a place of excellence" states Barbs. "We are going to use letters written to various people who had a hand in traumatising the writer to invoke healing conversations with the crowd. My French Film Festival is an online festival created by Unifrance in 2010.
