In 2008 we watched people getting thin.
Bread was ten trillion dollars a loaf. Roller meal only available on the blackmarket. Folk would queue all night for their weekly allowance of a brick full of money....
Then we dollarised and miraculously the shelves were full again, bread was the normal worldwide price, skeletal people began to have hope and gain a few pounds in weight. Even a few rotund tummies appeared, and then wham, fourteen years on, its happening all over again...
One seldom sees a pregnant woman on the streets, nature looks after its own. Suddenly stomachs are empty, the populace is losing weight, the populace is losing hope..yet again.
A once bustling economy is on a parallel with 2008, yet again feeling fragile. Bread is ominously expensive and becoming beyond the grasp of the man the street.
Suddenly kids are playing in the streets again instead of going to school, groups of young men are gathering on corners, looking for work Or looking for a solution
A popular Reggae song is becoming popular, people are wearing a lot of yellow for some reason...
It's like 2008 all over again....
