A Decorator's Nightmare

      6/12/2022       Next-->

My darling child 'SHE HOO MUST RUN' and her husband Alex, have a delightful ranch style house on a glorious small holding in South Perth. 2.2 hectares of beautifully manicured rolling green lawns with a small olive orchard on one side and a delightful grove of London Plane trees on another.

Now SHE HOO MUST RUN has an inordinate amount of cats, dogs, birds, and fish. The birds are an assortment of Sacred Ibis (which in Oz have been given the unkind name of Bin Bunnies) Flocks of Ring Necked Parrots, Gallahs, Black Cockatoos and ducks also roost on their small holding. Magpies are there too of course!

She and her husband are an extremely busy couple and Jo invited Lisa, a well know Perth Decorator, to work her magic on their home.
A beautiful living area emerged, most tasteful and pleasing to the eye, and funnily enough the lounge chairs are the exact colours to blend in with the cats and dogs! By accident or design I wonder The bedroom too is exceptionally gracious and enchanting with vast stretch of voile curtains electrically operated of course!

Lisa has worked magic on their home, but Jo must indeed be a Designers Nightmare!!
Thank goodness the fabrics are doggie and kitty coloured as they own the chairs and the bed, (much to Alex's horror)

The glorious expanse of pure white voile curtains has had to be re-designed to make way for the cat flaps! And horror of all horrors the dogs beds do not blend in with the taupes, champagnes and deliciously subtle colours!!

But Jo has it all in hand - newly commissioned decorative, colour coordinated dogs and cats beds are on order ( four for each room of course) to blend in with the delightful new surroundings!

And a cat flap is being manufactured by Master Engineer Alex, to co-operate harmoniously with the magnificent drapes.

All 'tongue in cheek' of course, someone has to be the 'butt' of my editorials.

Christmas is coming it is a time for reunions, bonding, renewing of friendship, the season of joy, peace, love & unity and a common tradition is the exchanging of gifts with our loved ones, friends, workmates and family and having lots of yummy food to eat ....

With this in mind Mustard Seed Communities Zimbabwe, Team Nozizwe and partners are planning a massive Christmas soup kitchen for next month, bringing a traditional Christmas to underprivileged communities in particular the over 1000 plus children we feed at our five kitchens. Ngozi mine, Pumula, Woodville and Cabatsha and Maghobho

Here's the catch...... we need your help to pull this off... we're planning on cooking up a storm for our little friends and elderly folks ...... serving rice, grilled chicken, and salads, with a little something sweet for dessert, cupcakes maybe sweeties and drinks AND THEN...... give each child a little toy/special gift to take home.....

Due to limited storage space for perishables we will accept canned foods, dried foods and other non perishables first from now until December. Then perishable goods such as vegetables and meats can come in a few days before the big day.

Donations big and small of any special eats and treats will be most welcome to make this a reality, in the previous years over Christmas we have served up to 700 children and this year we are likely to break that record by far. If you would like to donate to this years soup kitchen please do get in touch.....
