Do you find that your eating habits are controlling your life ? Do you suffer from compulsive over-eating, bulimia or anorexia? You're not alone, we too, have experienced hopelessness when we tried to control our eating habits. There is a solution. At our meetings you will find others who have the same concern and share your feelings. Chances are you will find many of the answers you will need. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - THE BALLET
Bulawayo Ballet Society is very excited to present Beauty and the Beast - The Ballet - in August 2006 We have the creme de la creme of theatre stalwarts involved: Set - designed by Cynthia Pretorius Costumes - Sabrina Mudenda and Pauline Rubenstein Music - Jackie Piccalus Lighting design - Shelagh Meikle and Jean Garrett Foyer - Alan McChesney Producer - Michele Macmillan Principal roles to be danced by Darnelle Sales, Memory Chamunorwa, Matthius Julius and ........ a principal boy from Cape Town is under negotiation!

SGOFOTI--Support Group Of The Families Of Terminally Ill

A third branch of SGOFOTI has started in Emakandeni in the Western suburbs. The other branches are in Mpopoma and Pelindaba. Ours is a volunteer,non governmental,support group offering psychological and emotional support to those who have lost loved ones. Our focus is on the AFFECTED(and we are all affected whether it is our relative,our friend,our neighbour, our employee and perhaps even our employer) in the devastating Aids pandemic.

We also run an occupational therapy group within which the women who are our clients, knit and sew using wool and material that has been donated. Many of these women are grannies with extra dependants and no breadwinner. They try to earn some money by selling what they have made.

The third aspect of SGOFOTI focuses on the orphans who are among the most affected by this terrible scourge. One of our counsellors,Patricia Tshabalala,took the initiative to start an orphan offshoot of SGOFOTI called VULINDLELA guardians where vulnerable children are entertained,taught skills and made to feel wanted. THOUGHTS
A VERY BIG THANK YOU
On Wednesday 22 March, 8:40am at the Fortunesgate Rd / Old Esigodini Rd intersection I was carjacked in a white Toyota Landcruiser Reg 660 833W. The car did not approach from behind but cut me off as I edged forward to get a clear view over the grass verge. It happened so fast and I thought the vehicle was dropping off passengers. The occupants of the brown sedan got out of the vehicle and immediately approached me and forced me out of the Cruiser at gun point. I was told to get in the back of the truck and lie down, two men with pistols got in with me and I was told not to look at them. They drove around for the next 20 - 30 minutes during which time they removed my jewellery. They forced me to tell them about the anti-hijack alarm and give them the code. I was told they would kill if I did not do as they said. I was dropped off on Douglasdale Drive,the one who had been watching me got off the truck too and pushed me towards the fence and told me to run into the bush.
During my time on the back of the truck I was lying on my side with my hands in clear view and my eyes shut. At no time did I speak to them other than when questioned about the alarm. I feel this was the right thing for me to do in my situation.
I would like to say a very big thank you to all the Bulawayo people who have offered support and kind words to me and my family, including the police who acted with compassion, Tracey Burns from the Anti-hijack Trust and in particular William Mills who immediately on finding out about the hijacked vehicle alerted many other people who all assisted in searching for the Land Cruiser.
