Come and Support our Rhino Fun Day Sunday 22 September 2013 The Matobo Rhino Initiative Trust was set up in 2012 to assist the Matopos National Park primarily in the protection of the Rhino. The re-erection of the Whovi Game fence was identified as a priority and thus the Rhino Game fence project was established. The project began in 2013 and to date the Northern and Western boundaries of the Game park have been fenced with bonnox. The Trust now requires further funds to complete the entire perimeter fence and thus additional funds are required. It has been decided to hold an event on World Rhino day, Sunday 22nd September 2013. The event will be held at Sandy Spruit, the main entrance to the National Park, starting at 10am. The entrance fee will be $20 per Adult and $10 per child. All entry proceeds will go to the Fence project, so this hopefully will be seen as a donation rather than a purely "entry fee". The entry fee includes: Light Braai Lunch A drink Participation in the sponsored 5km walk Bested Dressed Rhino competition Best Dressed Animal costume Most sponsorship raised by a boy and a girl - prizes by Lodges in Matopos. Cycle ride - 30k Part of the Rhino fence will be erected on site during the event An auction of Rhino Paintings and Prints. Speeches by prominent people and National Parks about the Matopos Rhino. Full bar available. The event is generally for the public to support the Matopos effort and to hear about developments in the park.
